The Wild Beat began as my first long-form field journal — a collection of early stories, reflections, and field reports from the field. These essays trace my original efforts to capture what I was seeing and feeling as a wildlife observer. I keep this archive as a record of those creative beginnings: longer in form, less polished, more stream of consciousness. Different from my current work, but driven by the same curiosity and passion.
